Dottoranda presso il Dipartimento di Informatica di Torino, Assunta è Junior research Fellow presso il laboratorio Interaction Center ospitato da University College of London.
Ha lavorato a lungo su temi quali il wearable computing, la body experience, interfacce tangibili (TUI), urban interaction design e urban informatics, e tutto ciò che ruota attorno allo Human Computer Interaction in generale.
Negli ultimi anni, si è dedicata maggiormente nello studio della tecnologia come supporto per interagire in ambienti intelligenti sfruttando le capacità del corpo umano e i sensi.
Il suo obiettivo principale è stato quello di individuare forme di interazione naturali, che sappiano valorizzare e rispettare le capacità del corpo.
Inoltre, si interessa di tematiche quali usabilità e user experience in generale per i devices emergenti, quali i mobile, wearable etc.
AssuntaMatassa is a PhD Student at the Department of Computer Science at theUniversity of Torino (Italy).
She is a visiting research fellow at UCLIC, Interaction Center hosted at UCL, London.
She is working on wearable computing, body experience, tangible interaction, urban interaction design, urban informatics and Human-Computer Interaction in general.
Last year, she mainly devoted in studying the implications of technologies in interacting with/in smart spaces exploiting the capabilities of human body. Her main goal is to figure out how to design and develop new interaction modalities to exploit the novel functionalities offered by smart objects, intelligent spaces and so on, with minimising the natural human abilities offered by the human body and senses.
Furthermore, she is interested in studying usability and, more in general, the user experience in novel devices such as mobile, wearable devices.
