The purpose of the "Probes" intensive program is to develop an indepth and an up-to-date training covering the design, synthesis and characterization of imaging probes including their functionalization and labelling for different imaging modalities. The main target group are undergraduate students registered to EMMI, but applications by motivated Master or graduate students from outside the EMMI circuit will be also encouraged.

Teaching and practical sessions with hands-on experiments presented and supervised by scientists of the coordinating institution will be the backbone of the intensive program. In addition lectures and lectures with practical demonstration will be implemented with the contribution of several partners of the project. The course is an integrated part of the European Master program on Molecular Imaging (EMMI) and is credited 6 ECTS.

The major innovation of this IP is to combine multidisciplinary and extensive expertises necessary to educate students in the Molecular Imaging field, a sum of expertise that is not found in a single institution. The main output of the project will be the introduction of participants to an European dimension in higher education and the production of learning resources.
