The possibilities to improve your Italian offered by the University of Torino:

    "Torino Università Estate" was established in 1998: its aim is to offer high quality language and culture courses in Italian for non-native speakers and to promote the image of Torino, a city rich in history, arts and tradition well known for the Winter Olympic Games in 2006.
  • CLIFU

    CLIFU (Language Centre for the Humanities Faculties) organizes intensive and three-month Italian courses for visiting professors, Erasmus students, scholarship holders, PhD students, researchers at the University of Torino and any other citizen interested in learning Italian for study or work purposes.
  • ICoN - Italian Culture on the Net

    ICoN - a Consortium of several Italian Universities, including the University of Torino - aims to promote the Italian language and culture. ICoN provides on-line courses for learning Italian at all levels. Students receive help from tutors, have free access to the dedicated forum and can follow all the courses entirely via web.
    The University of Torino offers all students involved in a mobility program (such as LLP/Erasmus program or similar) the opportunity to attend ICoN courses free of charge.
    Anyone interested in attending these free internet courses, should fill in the "ICoN Request Form" available in the section "DOCUMENTS" and send it to: relint@unito.it. They will receive the username and the password necessary to access to four language courses (basic, beginners, intermediate, advanced), which can be used on-line or downloaded.

  • Free Italian courses for Erasmus students
    The University of Torino offers to all Erasmus students free Italian courses.
    At the beginning of each semester, 40 hours courses (beginner, intermediate and advanced) are scheduled.
    The schedule for the second semester of the academic year 2011/2012 is available in the section "DOCUMENTS".

Certification of the Italian linguistic competence:

  • CILS

    CILS - Certificate of Italian as a second language - measures and assesses the level of competence the student reached in Italian language. The certificate is awarded by the Università per Stranieri di Siena and it is legally recognized as an official certification of linguistic communicative competence.
    The Foreign Affairs Ministry, through the different cultural institutions abroad, coordinates the centers allowed to be seat of examination.
