PLEASE NOTE: 

  • The competitive examination for the Phd in “Neurosciences” has been postponed. The written examination will take place on 5th December 2011 and the oral examination will be on 6th December 2011.
  • The oral examination of the Phd in "Pharmaceutical and Biomolecular  Sciences" will take place at 8.00 a.m. instead of 9.00 (day and place have not changed).
  • Results of the admission written examination to the PhD in "Classical and Modern Cultures" cycle XXVII have been released (oral examination has been postponed to17th November 2011). They can be consulted at the following website: Biblioteca del Dipartimento di Scienze Letterarie e Filologiche, under the label AVVISI.
  • The following new Call for applicants has been published on the Italian Official Gazette, 4th Special Series n. 79, issued on 4/10/2011.

Application deadline: 21st October 2011, 12:00 hours

  • Call for applicants to Research Doctorates in Comparative Analysis of Institutions, Economics and Law XXVII cycle;
  • Call for applicants Research Doctorates XXVII cycle (DR N. 4008 del 17/6/2011), published in the Italian Official Gazette 4th Special Series n. 79 dated 4/10/2011. Deadlines have been reopened to participate in the competition for the following Research Doctorates: Law, Person and Market; Economics “Vilfredo Pareto”; Law and Institutions; Psychological, Anthropological and Education Sciences; Sociology 

Candidates who are eligible to compete for the awarding of an INPDAP study grants must apply to INPDAP strictly within 21st October 2011. Instructions can be found on the “Bando di Concorso DR INPDAP" on INPDAP website.

The deadline for application to 27th cycle PhD programmes competition is already expired. It is not possible to apply anymore. Please, note that candidates who applied on reserved positions, as per Article 5 of the call, must submit by 10th September a research project chosen from those proposed by the PhD.

CALL FOR APPLICANTS RESEARCH DOCTORATES  - 27th CYCLE (expired call)

The selection for the Doctorate is through:

1) written examination and interview, or

2) assessment of qualifications and interview.

3) assessment of qualifications only if foreseen by the Doctorate programme and reserved for:

A) candidates resident abroad, and/or

B) foreign candidates (wherever resident) who hold a foreign qualification.

Candidates who fall within categories A) or B) are selected on the basis of the conditions set out in Article 5 of the call for applicants.

Candidate who does not yet hold a University Degree before the application deadline can take part in the competitive selection, providing he/she will graduate before the date of the first examination. Please read for more details art. 5 – point D, of the call for applicants.

Application requirements call for applicants 27th cycle

  1. Read the new call for applicants 27th cycle carefully
  2. Check you have all the requirements mentioned in article 3 of the call for applicants
  3. If you hold a foreign degree, read below;
  4. in case you compete through mere assessment of qualifications, for assessment of qualification and interview or if you hold a foreign degree, prepare in PDF all the required documents to attach to the online application;
  5. Fill in the application form online.

With the online procedure you can apply for the PhD courses directly without coming to the University. The University makes Internet access stations available to candidates at: Infopoint, via Po 29, Palazzo degli Stemmi (open from Monday to Friday from 09 a.m. to 07 p.m.)

A) If you already have an account as STUDENT with the University of Torino - MyUnito:
Enter your /username/ and /password/ in the University of Torino portal.
Select /Log in/ on the home page or click directly on http://my.unito.it.

In case of previous registration to other  courses at the University of Torino, select the matricula number among those listed and continue.

Follow the instructions and fill in the following sections:
select:

  • Enrolment
  • Admission exam
  • Registration
  • PhD programme
  • Select the PhD programme following the instructions
  • Print the application form, the fees and contributions form (if required), and the student data sheet.

 Remember that receipt for payment and the student data sheet  must be handed in:

  1. if you apply through written examination and interview to the examining Board on the day of the written examination along with a valid document attesting your identity;
  2. if you apply through assessment of qualifications and interview (art. 5):
    • the receipt of payment must be sent by fax to the following number: 011/6704380 or by email to: arearicerca-dottorati@unito.it by 26th OCTOBER, 2011, and
    •  the student data sheet must be handed in to the examinig Board on the day of  the interview, along with a valid document attesting your identity

B) If you are not already registered as STUDENT with MyUnito

If you applied for the admission exam for doctoral programs from 2005 on, in order to enter MyUniTo, you can ask for your authentication credentials to the following page "istruzioni e supporto"

Apply on the University of Torino web portal at http://my.unito.it/registrazione

In order to register you must create a personal e-mail address:  

  • verify that this is functioning properly because you must use it during the registration procedure on the portal
  • select a password and remember it, because you must use it to access the portal after closing the registration procedure
  • after entering your personal data, the automatic reply will ask you to confirm the registration.  Within 1 hour you must confirm the registration, following the instructions in the e-mail, otherwise you must register again
  • after your confirmation you will receive a second e-mail with the username and password you have already selected. Use it to log in on the UniTO web portal.

Select “login” on the home page or click directly on http://my.unito.it and follow the instructions at point A).

Warning! When registering you will be required to provide further data (i.e: where you live/qualifications).

If you are resident abroad, read here

By “residence” we mean the place where you usually live, that is the address, the Country and the town mentioned on your passport or identity document. Residence is different from your domicile, which is the place where you have settled, even temporarily, your headquarters for your business and interests.

The PhD programme can reserve a certain number of  positions to candidates resident abroad. In this case you can:

  • Fill in the online application form and attend the competitive examinations, or
  • Fill in the online application form and participate by assessment of academic titles (for further information about  which titles can be assessed and  how to send your titles, please refer to article 5 of the call).

In order to participate, you must choose ONE of the two possibilities.

If you hold a foreign degree or you will obtain it by the date of the written exam or by the date of the qualifications’ assessment

You must obtain a statement of equivalence by the School Teaching Committee, except in the case the degree was issued in Germany or Austria.

 In order to obtain it, you must follow the instructions that you can find in article 3 of the call for applicants: "...[..] In order to allow the School Teaching Committee to issue a statement of equivalence, the candidate must provide:

1) a sworn translation of the Graduate Degree certificate translated and a "dichiarazione di valore" (statement of value). Documents described in point 1) must be attached to the online form through the online procedure. Candidates who do not attach the required documents will be excluded from the procedure.

The abovementioned certificates and documents in foreign languages (except for English and French) must be translated and sworn by the appropriate diplomatic authorities or Italian consulates abroad, and must conform to the current legislation in the country of origin.

If it is not possible to provide the/dichiarazione di valore/(statement of value) , at the time of application, candidates must follow the procedure set out above, attaching a personal declaration duly signed, by which they undertakes to provide the requested documents as soon as possible (see Enclosure B). Candidates who do not provide the abovementioned document will be excluded from the procedure.
Following admission, the statement of value must be provided by and no later than the date on which the course officially begins, on penalty of exclusion.

The results concerning the issue of your statement of equivalence by the Doctorate Teaching Committee will be published on the website "Phd competition" at least two days before the date the written competition is held.

ENROLMENT UNDER CONDITION

In case you obtain your degree when the application deadline is expired, you must use the Enclosure C when applying online. After that, you must provide the Research and Advanced Education Service - Research and International Relations Divisions – a declaration attesting that you have obtained the degree (Enclosure B) by the date of the first examination.

If you are to obtain your degree in Italy and apply though the qualifications’ assessment, you must provide the Research and Advanced Education Service - Research and International Relations Divisions, a substitutive declaration attesting that you have obtained your degree (Enclosure D) by the date of the first examination.
